The Gorky Fest film Festival has started in Nizhny Novgorod, giving viewers a chance to get acquainted with the most interesting domestic films. The first film of the festival immediately after the opening was the action-packed comedy "Run", which will be released on the big screen soon.
The main roles in the film were played by the president of the Gorky Fest festival, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Mikhail Porechenkov and Nikita Kologrivy, who opened the ceremony.
"It's a job. We need to show what we are doing. I am pleased that they took the picture and made a special screening, this is the opening film. The director and producer have all arrived. Everyone who worked put their soul into this painting," Porechenkov shared.
Nikita Kologrivy plays a burglar in the film "Run" who discovers his wife's corpse in a stranger's apartment and, having witnessed the murder, is forced to flee from the killer.
"It seems to me that there is such a theme that we are all running now and are in some kind of constant race. And sometimes it's worth stopping. This is probably what the film is about," said director Roman Artemyev.
The main theme of this year's festival was the trust in cinema and the path to the audience's heart. There are 19 paintings in the main competition: stories of growing up, journeys to oneself, declarations of love for art. The contestants will be judged by a professional jury headed by director Alexei German Jr.
Earlier, the National Media Group (NMG) and the Platform CSP conducted a survey and found out which foreign and domestic films about the future Russians consider the most inspiring. The top ten most inspiring Russian and Soviet films were "Guest from the future", "Adventures of Electronics", "Amphibian Man", "Moscow - Cassiopeia", "Attraction", "One hundred years ahead", "Kin—dza-dza!", "Time of the first", the TV series "Two hills" and "Through thorns to the stars".
