- A captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine spoke about the violence of the command towards the military
Roman Kudin, a prisoner of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), said that Ukrainian commanders humiliate militants and resort to physical violence. The footage was published on July 11 by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to Kudin, he was captured by employees of the shopping mall (the territorial recruitment center, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) on the street, like most Ukrainians who are forcibly sent to a war zone. After passing the medical examination, the man continued to be detained, despite the fact that he was declared unfit.
Kudin is sure that the results of the medical examination were fraudulently changed. He also noted that he wanted to escape from the place of military service, but did not dare.
"I saw for myself how <...> the command used physical violence in front of all personnel. They slapped me in the face, then over my head. One of them fired blanks, and they hit him in the legs because he didn't obey orders. No one wants to go to the positions, because he did not come here himself, but by force," Kudin said.
According to him, everyone knows about what is happening in the Ukrainian army on the news. Many people go missing. In addition, the command may abandon military personnel.
Earlier, on July 7, Alexander Parkhomenko, a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that he had been sent to a combat zone after undergoing mediocre training. According to the man, he also did not have the necessary gear and equipment.
