Two men crashed during a paragliding flight over the Bratsk reservoir in the Irkutsk region, the Telegram channel of the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office reported on Friday, July 11.

"According to preliminary information, on July 10, 2025, in the evening, two men crashed while paragliding in the Dondir Bay of the Bratsk reservoir. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified," the message says.

Currently, the Bratsk Transport Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident. In addition, it is noted that a criminal case has been opened under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport, which negligently resulted in the death of two or more persons). The local prosecutor's office took control of the investigation.

Earlier, on July 1, it was reported that a Russian man died as a result of a paraglider crash in a mountainous area in Tajikistan. It was clarified that during the flight, the man's equipment failed, as a result of which he fell and died.
