A ship with 2.5 tons of cocaine worth $35 million was detained in Guatemala. This was announced on July 10 by the country's president Bernardo Arevalo.

"We have seized 2,581 kg of cocaine worth more than 265 million quartets [$35 million]," he wrote on the social network X.

He noted that this was the largest seizure of contraband in 2025.

Earlier, on June 28, 2.4 tons of cocaine worth about £100 million ($137.2 million) were seized in a British port. This shipment is the sixth largest seized cocaine contraband in UK history.
