Putin noted the contribution of the Slavyansky Bazar in Vitebsk to international cooperation

The holding of the Slavyansky Bazar International Art Festival in Vitebsk contributes to the strengthening of humanitarian cooperation between the Slavic peoples. This was announced on July 10 by Russian President Vladimir Putin in an address to the participants and guests of the event.

"The festival, held in an ancient and beautiful Belarusian city, makes a significant contribution to the strengthening of spiritual ties between fraternal Slavic peoples, to the development of mutually beneficial humanitarian cooperation," the text of the message on the Kremlin's website reads.

The event is being held for the 34th time. His motto "Through art to peace and mutual understanding" is becoming especially relevant in the current international conditions, the head of state noted.

Famous singers and artists will perform at the festival venues. It will also be possible to hear pop and folklore groups. Exhibitions and presentations will be available for participants. Special attention will be paid to the program of events for the children's audience — creative contests have been prepared for young visitors.

"Events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War, the most important event in our common history, occupy a special place in the program," Putin said.

He stressed that by the example of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, the younger generation will be able to learn more about the "good traditions of fraternal friendship and mutual assistance."

On July 11, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko presented the Union State Awards in the field of literature and art for 2023-2024 at the Slavyansky Bazar festival in Vitebsk. He stressed that the event has become a celebration of traditional values, and local residents and guests can really relax their souls.
