On July 10, State Duma deputies from the New People faction proposed creating a single short number for emergency veterinary care.

"We consider it advisable to consider the creation and implementation of a single short number for emergency veterinary care throughout the Russian Federation," RIA Novosti quotes the text of the letter.

It is clarified that the deputies suggested using the 106 number, since it is not occupied by other services and is easy to remember.

In their opinion, this number will help ensure round-the-clock availability of veterinary care for all citizens. In addition, the deputies believe that this will improve the protection of animals from accidents and make the attitude towards them in society more humane.

Vladimir Golubev, President of the Russian Cynological Federation, said on June 27 that dogs often try to eat grass on the street — this is not always dangerous, but it can be a signal. According to him, most often the pet makes up for the lack of fiber in this way or tries to induce vomiting in case of poisoning. In such cases, it is worth adding vegetables and herbs to the diet, and in case of repeated vomiting, consult a veterinarian.
