Sobyanin spoke about the plans for the reconstruction of the Luzhniki complex

The territory of the Luzhniki Olympic sports complex will become one of the best recreation areas in the capital, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his Telegram channel. The mayor of the capital shared with Muscovites plans for the reconstruction of the sports complex.

"Luzhniki Stadium is a symbol of the Olympic movement. In recent years, much has been built and reconstructed here, and a significant part of the territory has been landscaped. But there are territories that are completely abandoned, and old utilities require reconstruction. We are currently engaged in these works and are putting more than 55 hectares in order. One of the best recreational areas in the city for recreation and sports will appear here," Sergei Sobyanin explained.

The reconstruction will take place in three stages and will be completed in 2027. At the first stage, work will be carried out on the improvement of the central square of the Olympic Park. There will be a swimming pool with a fountain group. In summer, a fountain will work here, and in winter one of the largest ice rinks in the capital will be flooded. Cafes, restaurants, and changing rooms will be located around the central part of the square. At the second stage, the reconstruction of the Festival Square and the space "Under the Bridge" will be carried out. There will be more than 10 outdoor sports grounds. The third stage of work will be the improvement of outdoor football and tennis fields, playgrounds, repair of administrative buildings and the entrance group.
