Deputies of the Russian State Duma (DG) have rejected a bill to revoke the Fan ID. This was announced on July 10 on the website of the lower house of parliament.

It is noted that the proposed changes are aimed at abolishing the mandatory identification of spectators of sporting events, which are specified in the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Currently, such competitions include the Russian Football Championship and the final match of the Russian Football Cup. "Газета.Ru ".

"There is no argumentation to the bill, <...> no data indicating the ineffectiveness of the current legal regulation," the conclusion of the relevant State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports says.

Back in 2023, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that there were no plans to abandon Fan IDs at football matches in Russia. According to him, a fan's passport is necessary for the safety of the audience, and statistics show good results — almost complete absence of incidents.
