It is still difficult to talk about the beginning of mass tourist trips from Russia to the DPRK. Dmitry Gorin, Vice President of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT), expressed this opinion on Thursday, July 10.

"From the point of view of tourism, this is a destination where you need to plan trips only with organized tours. Independent tourist trips to this country are impossible at the moment," Gorin said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

He added that it is extremely difficult to predict the load of the tourist flow now, because for this there must be a demand for the destination.

"In the meantime, this direction is working in terms of transportation according to a certain schedule. There are already groups from Vladivostok. But getting passengers on a plane from Moscow and ensuring that the plane is fully occupied is still a difficult issue," concluded the PCT Vice President.

The day before, it became known that the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviation) granted Nordwind airlines access to operate flights between Moscow and Pyongyang (DPRK), the Moscow City News Agency reports. Flights will be operated twice a week.

On June 12, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russian and North Korean diplomats were negotiating the expansion of air traffic, according to 360.ru . She stressed that the resumption of direct rail links between Moscow, Khabarovsk and Pyongyang would become a reliable basis for the development of good-neighborly relations between the Russian Federation and the DPRK.

On June 25, the Pyongyang–Moscow train, which resumed running after a five-year hiatus, arrived at Yaroslavsky Railway Station in the capital, RT reports. The train will run twice a month, with a journey time of just over 8 days.
