- Mishustin reported on the excessive supply of grain and sugar to the Russian Federation
Russia provides itself with grain and sugar in abundance. This was announced on July 10 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
"There is a steady trend in the implementation of the food security doctrine: according to key indicators — grain, sugar — we provide ourselves with an excess. In particular, the volume of production of vegetable oil, meat, and meat products increased over the past year," he said during a government meeting.
In particular, the Prime Minister noted that the pace of development in the agro-industrial sector confirms the effectiveness of the measures applied.
He also emphasized the growing use of seeds of domestic breeding. According to him, the indicator currently stands at about 67%. Mishustin clarified that these are not only cereals, but also sunflower, sugar beet and a number of other crops.
The Russian Prime minister called it the most important component for increasing the competitiveness of farmers and the basis for future good harvests.
Earlier, on July 4, the Russian government included bananas in the list of agricultural products produced and processed in Russia. The relevant document was signed by Mishustin.
