Four police departments of the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region were searched. This was reported on July 10 in the Telegram channel of the Main Investigative Directorate (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in St. Petersburg.
"The Investigative Department for the Central District of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city of St. Petersburg has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Mediation in bribery), upon the transfer of funds from entrepreneurs to police officers," the report says.
According to the investigation, in July 2024, entrepreneurs wanted to bribe law enforcement officials for general patronage of commercial activities. Its amount was 154 thousand rubles.
As a result, officials of 87, 88, 97, 128 police departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region were identified on suspicion of committing corrupt acts. At the moment, searches have been organized at their places of residence and service. After that, the suspects will be taken to the investigation department for further measures.
Earlier, on July 7, it was reported that the former deputy head of the Russian Guard Viktor Strigunov is in custody. According to the investigation, he signed a multimillion-dollar government contract between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and SU Remstroytorg LLC for the construction of a training center, which was under his control.
