330 road accidents have occurred in Russia over the past 24 hours
Over the past day, 330 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 37 people were killed and 499 injured. 32 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on July 10 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
15 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which four people were killed, and 29 more road users, including three children, needed medical help. Seven bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.
So, in the Komi Republic, in the evening, on 254 km of the Syktyvkar —Ukhta—Pechora—Usinsk—Naryan-Mar regional highway, a 33-year-old driver of a cargo Gazelle drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a minibus with 12 passengers moving in the opposite direction. Both drivers and two passengers of the bus were killed in the accident, six more passengers were hospitalized with injuries.
In Omsk, on 805 km of the Irtysh federal highway, a 60-year-old truck driver lost control during the rain on a wet road and drove into the oncoming lane in a prohibited place, where he collided with a city bus carrying 10 passengers. After impact, the truck ran over a metal barrier fence. As a result of the incident, the truck driver and two bus passengers, including a seven-year-old boy, were hospitalized, and the driver and five other bus passengers were sent for outpatient treatment after receiving medical care.
As a result of 74 accidents, 35 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 39 outside their area of operation, five pedestrians were killed, and 70 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 19 child pedestrians, seven of whom were injured while crossing the roadway in designated areas.
58 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 66 young road users were injured, including 30 passengers, eight cyclists and seven motor transport drivers. Two child passengers were killed.
So, in the Moscow region, at night on 18 km of the Lukhovitsy — M-5 Ural—Zaraysk highway, a 26-year-old passenger car driver drove into the oncoming lane in a prohibited place, where he collided with a minivan driven by a 47-year-old female driver carrying eight passengers, including six children. As a result of the accident, the culprit of the collision and the 11-year-old passenger of the minivan, who was in the middle row of seats with a seat belt fastened, died. The female driver and her seven passengers, including five children aged 8 to 15, were hospitalized.
In the Republic of Tatarstan, on 25 km of the Naberezhnye Chelny — Sarmanovo regional highway, a 30-year-old passenger car driver drove into the oncoming lane in a prohibited place, where he collided with another passenger car. The accident killed both the perpetrator of the car accident and his two passengers, including a three-year-old boy who was in the back seat in a child restraint. In addition, a passenger of the second car was killed, and its 37-year-old driver, his four-year-old son and another passenger were hospitalized with injuries. The injured child was also transported in the back seat using a child restraint device.
The State Traffic Inspectorate called on truck and bus drivers to comply with traffic regulations and driving discipline. It is important to correctly assess the inertia of a truck depending on speed and load, dimensions, condition and width of the roadway, terrain and risk of skidding, as well as take into account the density of traffic flow.
"Do not create accidents on the road. Remember that not only your own life and health are in your hands, but also the lives of other road users, and in the case of passenger transportation by buses, the lives and health of passengers in public and intercity vehicles, which depend on your discipline, well—being and experience of the driver," said the head of the Department of Road Safety Promotion and prevention of children's road traffic injuries GUOBDD of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich.
On July 9, it was reported that in Moscow, according to the results of the first half of 2025, 6.7% fewer accidents occurred than in the same period last year. The number of dead and injured decreased by 32% and 5.1%, respectively.
