Free distribution of drinking water to residents of the city has been organized in polyclinics and public service centers "My Documents" of the capital. This was announced by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

"In conditions of abnormal heat, our main task is to preserve the health and well—being of residents. Extreme temperatures of up to 35 degrees are expected in the city today and tomorrow. To support Muscovites, we are launching centralized distribution of drinking water at the flagship offices of My Documents and at the Palace of Public Services at VDNH. As early as Friday, when social institutions traditionally receive more visitors, the same measure will begin to operate in polyclinics in all administrative districts of the capital. So, Muscovites will be able to take a bottle of water for free to avoid overheating on the street. We also ask residents to follow simple preventive measures — do not go out into the sun unnecessarily, stay in the shade and seek medical help if they feel unwell," Anastasia Rakova said.

Besides bottled drinking water, coolers installed in institutions are usually available to visitors and employees of polyclinics and public service centers.

The distribution of bottled water is organized during the hottest hours — from 12:00 to 15:00. The action began on Thursday in all flagship centers of public services, including the Palace at VDNH. On Friday, water will be distributed in the main buildings of clinics throughout the city. If necessary, taking into account the weather conditions, the volume and geography of drinking water distribution will be rapidly expanded.
