Prankers Vovan and Lexus revealed a 102-year-old woman who worked as a dropper
Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexey Stolyarov (Vovan and Lexus) have released a new episode of their show dedicated to droppers and their recruitment on VK Video and Rutube video platforms. They managed to uncover Russia's oldest dropper, a 102-year-old woman who worked as a courier for Ukrainian fraudsters.
The pranksters were helped by blogger Lana Zhmud, who is involved in the implementation of fraudulent schemes to prevent theft. Pretending to be a victim of intruders, she met a 102-year-old woman who performed tasks for Ukrainian scammers.
In addition, Vovan and Lexus managed to talk to one of the organizers of the Ukrainian fraudulent schemes. According to him, the attackers seek to involve one person in their business for a reward and subsequently continue to work with him.
"He went and did what we needed, they gave him $500,000, they dressed him, shod him, rented an apartment, and now he works for us. That's how you can do it, that's entrepreneurship. You can have your own little man, let's say, tame. <...> He does what he's told. He quit his job, they rented him an apartment, and he works for us. That's it," the scammer told the pranksters.
Earlier, on June 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that criminalizes droppers with up to six years in prison. Amendments are being made to art. 187 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal circulation of funds of payments").
