- More than 14 thousand people were left without electricity due to a thunderstorm in the Novgorod region
Several districts of the Novgorod region, where more than 14 thousand people live, were left without electricity due to thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds. This was announced on July 10 by the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services and the Fuel and Energy Complex of the region on the VKontakte social network.
"Due to adverse weather events <...> in Batetsky, Lyubytinsky, Khvoyninsky and other districts of the Novgorod region, 51 high-voltage power transmission lines were disconnected. 388 settlements remain without electricity supply," the ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that the Novgorod branch of PJSC ROSSETI North-West has switched to a special mode of operation.
Earlier, on July 7, a partial power outage was recorded in three settlements in Khakassia. It is specified that almost 10 thousand people were under the restriction of electricity supply.
