The US State Department announced a meeting between Rubio and Lavrov in Kuala Lumpur.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will hold a joint meeting as part of their participation in events organized by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). This was reported on July 10 on the website of the United States Department of State.

"Secretary Rubio will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia," the publication says.

It is specified that the meeting is scheduled for 18:00 local time (13:00 Moscow time).

Rubio will also have meetings with the foreign ministers of the Philippines and Japan, as well as with the Prime Minister of Malaysia. At 15:00 Moscow time, the official will attend the ASEAN Gala dinner.
