The Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Kamchatka Territory has opened a criminal case into the death of a worker at the Baranyevsky mine. This was announced on July 10 by the press service of the department in the Telegram channel.
"On June 5, during work at the Baranyevsky underground mine in the Bystrinsky district of the Kamchatka Territory, in violation of the rules of work at a dangerous production facility, a rock mass collapsed, as a result of which a 40-year—old miner of the gold mining enterprise died at the scene," the department said.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of industrial safety requirements of hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of a person by negligence"). The necessary investigative and other procedural actions are being carried out.
The details and circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
On June 4, it was reported that one person died in a rock collapse at the Kamchatka Baranyevsky mine. The body was evacuated by mountain rescuers of the paramilitary mountain rescue unit.
