"Kasatkin was detained in France on June 21 at the request of the United States, which suspects him of being a member of a hacker network that operated using ransomware," the publication says.

The arrest took place at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport, where the athlete arrived with his fiancee. It is noted that Kasatkin pleads not guilty.
