The Ministry of Emergency Situations eliminated a fire after an accident with three cars in Kalmykia

Specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have eliminated a fire that started on the roadway after an accident involving three vehicles on the federal highway (FAD) R-216 Astrakhan – Elista – Stavropol in the Tselinny district of the Republic of Kalmykia. This was announced on July 9 by the press service of the department for the region in the Telegram channel.

"Upon arrival, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations observed a head—on collision between two passenger cars (Volkswagen Polo and Toyota Camry) and one KamAZ truck, resulting in a fire in three vehicles," the statement said.

Two people died as a result of the incident. Three victims were also taken to a medical facility.

Firefighters extinguished the fire on an area of 100 sq. m.

Earlier in the day, a two-year-old child and three adults died in an accident in Tatarstan. According to preliminary data, at about 17:00 Moscow time, the driver of a domestic car drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a foreign car.
