An elderly resident of the Pskov region was sentenced for murder out of jealousy

A court in the Pskov region sentenced a 65-year-old resident of the Loknyansky district, who killed his friend, jealous of his roommate. This is reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

The murder occurred in February 2025 at the convict's home. It is established that the man, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, quarreled with his acquaintance. The reason was jealousy of a cohabitant, the Pskov news feed writes.

During the quarrel, the pensioner stabbed his guest in the back. The knife damaged the man's lung and diaphragm, "the injury caused serious harm to health, and subsequently death," the prosecutor's office said.

The court found a resident of Loknyansky district guilty under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Murder" and sentenced him to eight years in prison. He will serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony.

On June 30, in St. Petersburg, a drunk man stabbed his wife 14 times in front of his young son, after which he hid the body in a sofa. On July 2, the court chose a preventive measure for him. During the hearing, he admitted that he did not remember why he had quarreled with his wife.
