ATAG predicted a 35-45% increase in hotel bookings in Gelendzhik%

The number of booked hotels in Gelendzhik may grow by 35%-45% against the background of the opening of the airport. This was announced on July 9 by Alexander Bragin, Director of the Association of Travel Aggregators (ATAG).

"According to our forecasts, after the opening of the airport, the number of bookings of accommodation facilities in Gelendzhik in the second half of summer and in September may increase by about 35-45%," he said, according to TASS.

Bragin pointed out that the level of tourist interest in Gelendzhik may increase several times. At the same time, the number of bookings will depend on the price level for flights and accommodation.

The director of ATAG clarified that many Russian tourists have already planned holidays in other regions, so not all will choose this particular destination. However, he added that Gelendzhik is among the top bookings in Russia due to the fact that the destination is favorable for holidays with family and children.

Earlier that day, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation announced that work on updating the airport infrastructure in Gelendzhik would be completed by the end of 2025. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, Gelendzhik airport is ready to resume receiving and dispatching aircraft from July 10, regular flights will be operated from 08:30 to 20:00 Moscow time. At the same time, ticket sales to Gelendzhik began on the Aeroflot airline's website.
