A quarantine was introduced in the Bezhanitsky municipal district of the Pskov region due to a rabid fox. The regional government announces this in its Telegram channel.

The quarantine is in effect in the village of Stepenino, where a domestic dog got into a fight with a fox. Later, local residents found the corpse of a wild animal.

Employees of the state veterinary service conducted a study and confirmed that the fox had rabies. The dog was vaccinated, and now it is also in quarantine, the Pskov News feed writes.

Rabies quarantine is valid for 60 days from the moment the last case of the disease is detected. As of July 9, there are two rabies outbreaks in the Pskov region.
