Reuters reported on Emirates' decision to accept cryptocurrency as payment
Emirates airline has signed a preliminary agreement that will allow customers to pay for its services using cryptocurrency. This was reported on July 9 by the Reuters news agency, citing a statement from the company.
"Emirates has signed a preliminary agreement with Crypto.com which will allow its customers to make payments through the payment service of the cryptocurrency trading platform," the agency quotes the company's statement.
According to Adnan Kazim, Vice President and Commercial Director of Emirates, this agreement should enter into force next year. It clarifies that such a measure is aimed at attracting "young, technically savvy customers who prefer digital currencies."
Fyodor Sidorov, a private investor and founder of the School of Practical Investment, told Izvestia on July 3 that forecasts of a sharp increase in bitcoin (BTC) to $200,000 by the end of the third quarter of 2025 look overly optimistic, such a jump is unlikely due to the lack of sufficient capital injections and global irritable factors. He added that a more realistic range for the end of September is $80-100 thousand, but this is possible only under favorable macro conditions and while maintaining investors' "appetite" for risk.
