The expert listed the most short-lived components of cars
Some components in cars wear out faster than others, including due to constant loads and aggressive operating conditions. Spark plugs are considered to be one of the most unreliable parts, said Yulia Trushkova, Rolf's service director.
As the expert explained, spark plugs operate at high temperatures and electrical loads, and their life depends on fuel quality and operating conditions.
"Nickel candles last about 30-45 thousand kilometers, and more expensive platinum candles last up to 70 thousand or more. If the engine starts to "troit", fuel consumption increases or power drops, they are probably the problem," Rossiyskaya Gazeta quoted Trushkova as saying on July 9.
Other short-lived components of cars are the oxygen sensor (lambda probe) and the mass air flow sensor (DMRV), which are critical for engine operation and sensitive to fuel quality and pollution. She included brake pads and discs, a timing belt, electrical components (fuses and relays), and various rubber elements (dust covers, silent blocks, and bushings) in the list of frequently replaced parts. The specialist warned that many serious breakdowns begin with minor malfunctions.
The day before, auto expert Alexander Homan warned that some drivers, in order to save money, switch to using regular water instead of a special washing liquid, which harms the car. Impurities and sediment in the water contribute to the formation of stone on the walls of the tanks and in the hoses in the car system, which leads to the failure of the headlight washer and windshield pumps, the expert explained.
