Rosfinmonitoring has added blogger Shchepikhin to the list of terrorists and extremists

Blogger Areg Shchepikhin, who was arrested for calling for extremism, was added to the list of terrorists and extremists. The relevant information appeared on July 9 on the Rosfinmonitoring website.

"Shchepikhin Areg Samvelovich, born on 07/11/1985. The city of Yerevan in the Republic of Armenia," the list says.

On July 5, a criminal case was opened against Shchepikhin for inciting hatred after a video posted on social networks.

The tightening will also apply to foreigners and stateless persons.

On July 6, a court in Moscow chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for Shchepikhin. According to the decree, the blogger will stay in a pre-trial detention center for two months.
