Bentley introduced a three-seater car with a dog bed
Bentley has unveiled a concept car called the Exp 15. The model is a design experiment and a vision of the future of the British brand. The company's press service said that the show car is inspired by the 1930 grand tourer, the Bentley Speed Six Gurney Nutting Sportsman, nicknamed the "Blue Express."
One of the main features of the Bentley Exp 15 concept is the asymmetrical configuration of the doors — two on the driver's side and one on the passenger side. There are also three seats in the cabin, and one of them is equipped with a servo drive and can be in three positions — next to the driver or rear passenger, as well as unfolded. In addition, the chair can be rotated by an angle of 45°, which, together with the sliding glass roof section, facilitates boarding and disembarking.
The vacated space in the place of the front passenger seat can be used as an additional platform for luggage (fasteners are provided) or install a pet carrier. In the images, Bentley demonstrated a self-designed dog bed.
In the conceptual model, Bentley designers tried to combine the advantages of a crossover, sedan and coupe type grand Tourer. The rear door opens with a glass like a liftback, and the folding bottom side with two seats transforms into a picnic area. Another unusual solution was the design of the interior front panel — premium wood trim is hidden behind transparent media screens.
It is assumed that the Bentley Exp 15 is a harbinger of the brand's first mass-produced electric car, which will debut next year and will be based on the Porsche Cayenne Electric (the German brand is just preparing to introduce it).
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Lucid Air electric car entered the Guinness Book of World Records, having traveled 1,205 km on a single battery charge. The previous record was surpassed by 160 km.
