The agreement on the mutual abolition of the visa regime, which was signed in Moscow, will enter into force on July 18. This was announced on July 9 by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry on its website.

"On July 18, the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Sultanate of Oman on the mutual abolition of visa requirements, signed in Moscow on April 22, 2025, comes into force," the publication says.

Russian citizens will now be able to stay in Oman without a visa for up to 30 days each time they visit, provided that their purpose is not to reside, study or engage in other activities that require a work permit. According to the press service of the ministry, the total period of stay in Oman should not exceed 90 days during a calendar year.

Such rights will also apply to Omani citizens in the Russian Federation.

Earlier, on June 7, Sultan of Oman Haytham bin Tariq Al Said issued a decree on the abolition of visas for tourists from Russia. The document entered into force after the ratification of the agreement, which was signed on April 22 this year after negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Sultan of Oman.
