- The Chinese Foreign Ministry denied the accusations of Germany against the background of the incident with the German plane
German information that Chinese military personnel allegedly aimed a laser at a German aircraft during the Aspides naval operation in the Red Sea is unreliable. This was announced on July 9 by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning.
"The information provided by the German side completely contradicts the facts known to China," the Guancha newspaper writes, citing her words.
Mao Ning stressed that the Naval Forces (Navy) The PRC provided escort services in the Somali waters of the Gulf of Aden and ensured the safety of international shipping lanes. According to her, Beijing has maintained good communication with Berlin and the European side in general.
The official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also noted that both sides should be pragmatic and strengthen cooperation in a timely manner in order to avoid misunderstandings and erroneous judgments.
Germany, in turn, took note of China's reaction to the accusation of targeting a German aircraft with a laser.
The day before, the German Foreign Ministry announced the summoning of the Chinese ambassador due to the fact that the Chinese military aimed a laser at a German plane. It was clarified that the Chinese military used a laser installation to destroy a German aircraft.
