The Russian Federation considers the ban on Russians entering Armenia to be an unfriendly act, as it contradicts the allied relations between the two countries. This was stated on July 9 at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"We consider the ban on entry to Russian citizens as an unfriendly step that contradicts the allied nature of Russian-Armenian cooperation," said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

According to her, this was discussed by the foreign ministers of the two countries back in May. At that time, Armenia was offered concrete steps to resolve this issue. At the moment, as Zakharova noted, Moscow is waiting for Yerevan's reaction.

On July 7, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, during a meeting with Armenian Ambassador Gurgen Arsenyan, stated the need to maintain a constructive information background around Russia. In addition, the Deputy Minister and the Ambassador discussed issues on the bilateral and regional agenda and Russian-Armenian contacts.
