The best-selling broken Chinese cars in Russia are named

The Geely brand topped the ranking among the best-selling cars in Russia after an accident. Experts from the Migtorg online platform told Izvestia about this on July 9.

Since the beginning of the year, 853 broken Geely cars have been sold in Russia, the average closing price of the lot was 936.8 thousand rubles. Chery is in second place with 790 cars (640.4 thousand rubles), Haval is in third place (534 cars; 733.6 thousand rubles). Changan, Omoda, Exeed and Shacman followed, as well as FAW, Belgee and Jetour (from 653 thousand to 955 thousand rubles).

Using the best-selling models as an example, experts estimated that Haval Jolion loses 59.23% of the cost of a new car after an accident, Chery Tiggo 4 — 67.12%, and Geely Coolray — 61.21%.

"It's interesting that any broken Chinese car loses an average of 50% of its value after an accident. At the same time, European-made cars lose less, from 40-45%. Most Russians are simply not ready for this. Given the high proportion of car loans today, car owners risk losing a significant amount of money every day just by leaving the yard," said Alexander Korotkov, CEO of Migtorg.

On June 17, Migtorg experts said that Chinese premium used cars could lose 60-70% of their value after an accident. Experts noted that the cost of broken hybrids is higher compared to cars with a conventional engine due to the safety of batteries in case of an accident.
