Traffic police reported a decrease in the number of accidents in Moscow by almost 7%

In Moscow, according to the results of the first half of 2025, 6.7% fewer accidents occurred than in the same period last year. The number of dead and injured decreased by 32% and 5.1%, respectively, the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate reported on its Telegram channel on July 9.

A total of 3,715 road accidents were registered in Moscow from January to June, in which 100 people were killed and 4,182 injured.

The most common types of road accidents in which people were killed and injured were vehicle collisions and pedestrian collisions. The most frequent traffic violations among drivers in the capital were non-compliance with the distance, non-compliance with the order of travel and speed inconsistency with specific traffic conditions.

On June 16, it was reported that the number of people killed in road accidents in Russia has decreased with an increase in the number of accidents. So, from January to May 2025, 44.4 thousand deaths occurred in Russia. Accidents with deaths or injuries, which is 0.7% more than in the same period last year. The number of dead in them amounted to 4.6 thousand people (-1.9%), and the wounded — 55.7 thousand people (+0.5%).
