In Yekaterinburg, all warehouses located within the city limits will be moved to the suburbs. This will allow further development of the city's infrastructure.

Denis Pasler, Acting Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, told about this on the sidelines of Innoprom-2025. According to him, quoted by the news agency " <url>", he is asked to consider the possibility of providing land for the construction of container warehouses and storage facilities. It is possible that the warehouse sites will be moved outside the city in order to develop housing developments and infrastructure related to parks and streets.

According to him, in this regard, the possibility of expanding the Uralsky transport and logistics center is being considered. Its area can be doubled and storage facilities can be placed on it, which are now "scattered" around Yekaterinburg.

The statement of the head of the region was made in response to a question from journalists about the development of the Dry Port project and the Uralsky transport and logistics center. Pasler noted that there is a possibility for its expansion, but it will take years to implement the idea.

The first stage of the Uralsky shopping mall was opened in Yekaterinburg in 2022. The complex consists of railway, terminal and warehouse infrastructure. In total, nine similar centers are planned to be opened in Russia.

Earlier it was reported that in Yekaterinburg, work began on the demolition of the old overpass located in the construction area of a new road interchange at the Kalina concern. We are talking about the central overpass, which is located between two new bridges that have already been built. Initially, it was planned to complete the construction of the interchange in December 2024, but the deadline was postponed to August 2026.
