The Ukrainian goalkeeper of the Real Madrid football club, Andrei Lunin, before the match of the semi-final of the World Club Championship (KCHM) against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), answered in Russian to a request to speak in his native language. The corresponding video was posted on the Spanish team's account on the social network X (formerly Twitter) on July 9.

The athletes were asked to say the word "semi-final" in their native languages, Sport-Express clarifies. Lunin replied in Russian, and as a result, he faced criticism from Ukrainian users.

The match between PSG and Real Madrid will take place on July 9th. From the French team, Russian football player Matvey Safonov will play as goalkeeper.

Earlier, on July 6, Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the World Cup of Football. Forwards Gonzalo Garcia, Kylian Mbappe and defender Fran Garcia scored goals for the winning team.
