On the Baikal trail, a man fell off a cliff and died
A man died after falling off the Skriper cliff on a section of the Bolshaya Baikal Trail. This was reported on July 9 in the press service of the Baikal Search and Rescue Squad THE Ministry OF Emergency Situations OF THE Russian Federation.
"The information was received on the afternoon of July 8 from the duty officer of the EDDS (Unified Dispatching Service on duty. — Ed.): a man fell off the Skriper cliff near the village of Bolshye Koty," reads a post on the VKontakte social network.
Due to the difficult terrain, rescuers were able to descend to the deceased with the help of climbing equipment. Subsequently, the man's body was lowered to the boat and transported to the BPSO base for transfer to the funeral service staff.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia called on Russians to be careful when traveling for safety reasons.
Earlier, on June 20, a climber from the Rostov region died while climbing Mount Elbrus. According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kabardino-Balkaria, a 35-year-old man was making a solo ascent of the mountain. His body was discovered by another group of climbers.
