The US State Department has condemned attacks by Yemeni Houthis on bulk carriers in the Red Sea.

The United States condemned the attacks by the Yemeni Houthis on the Magic Seas and Eternity C dry cargo ships in the Red Sea, which led to the deaths of three people and the sinking of the vessel. This was announced on July 8 by the press service of the US Department of State on its official website.

"The United States condemns the unprovoked Houthi terrorist attack on the civilian cargo ships MV Magic Seas and MV Eternity C in the Red Sea, which led to the tragic deaths of three sailors, many others were injured and the complete loss of the MV Magic Seas vessel and its cargo," the ministry said in an official statement.

It is noted that the attacks became a fact of the Houthis' threat to the safety and freedom of navigation. The US State Department stressed that it would take measures to protect ships from attacks and called on the international community to condemn such actions.

At the same time, the Yemeni movement allows for a sustained cease-fire with the United States after the truce with Iran.

Earlier, on July 7, Yahya Saria, a representative of the Ansar Allah group, said that the Yemeni Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack on the Magic Seas cargo ship in the Red Sea. He noted that the operation was carried out after the military sent warnings to the Magic Seas vessel.
