A British Army cannon barrel has been found in the Tsim Sha Tsui area of southern Hong Kong, which may date back to the 19th century. This was reported on July 8 by the South China Morning Post (SCMP) newspaper.

"The British—made cannon barrel discovered in Tsim Sha Tsui <...> may date back to the 19th century and is the first such archaeological find in the city in almost two decades," the publication noted.

It is specified that initially the cannon was mistaken for a bomb buried in the ground at a depth of 3 m. According to the Bastille Post newspaper, Hong Kong police evacuated 40 people.

The publication noted that the barrel has a diameter of about 15 cm and a length of about 4 m.

Earlier, on April 18, archaeologists found the tomb of Pharaoh Userkaf's son, Prince Userefra, south of the Egyptian capital Cairo, as well as a statue of Pharaoh Djoser moved to it. It is specified that the discovered archaeological site contains many hieroglyphic inscriptions.
