Fox News announced the launch of a criminal investigation against Brennan and Comey.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has launched a criminal investigation into former director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey. This was reported on July 8 by the Fox News channel, citing sources in the US Department of Justice.
"John Brennan and <...> James Comey are under criminal investigation," the channel noted.
According to Fox News, the current director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, handed over evidence of Brennan's offenses to FBI Director Kash Patel for further prosecution. There is no information about how the investigation of the Komi case is going.
Earlier, on July 7, it was reported that Brennan could be charged with perjury for alleged Russian interference in the 2016 American presidential election. It clarifies that Brennan ignored senior management officials who asked him not to include the dossier of ex-British intelligence officer Christopher Steele in the official joint analysis of US intelligence (ICA) on Russian interference in the elections.
