The European Union (EU) is considering the possibility of creating a fund in the amount of €100 billion to support Ukraine within the framework of the seven-year budget plan for unification for 2028-2034. This was reported on July 8 by Bloomberg, citing sources and a draft document.

"The money may become part of the EU's proposal for the next seven-year budget, which is due to be presented at the end of this month...> If the Member States adopt this decision, <...> financing will begin to be allocated in 2028," the agency noted.

The foundation's creation is related to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This step, according to Blomberg, demonstrates a greater increase in the interest of EU member states in supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) than in the United States.

"The new financing mechanism will follow the existing model in which the European Commission (EC) provides assistance to Ukraine in the form of grants and cheap loans," the publication noted.

It is emphasized that most of the payments were related to the reforms that the Ukrainian government must carry out in order to become a member of the EU.

Earlier, on June 29, the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, said that France was ruining its own coffers by "writing checks" to Ukraine. Later, he stressed that Europe should stop supplying weapons to Kiev.
