The French and British "coalition of the willing" project to provide assistance to Ukraine is a signal that Europe will continue to support Kiev. This was stated on July 8 by French President Emmanuel Macron during a speech in the British Parliament, broadcast by the AFP news agency on YouTube.

"This coalition has become a signal that the Europeans will never leave Ukraine," he said.

The French President also stressed that Paris and London intend to seek a ceasefire and achieve "lasting peace" in the region.

Earlier, on July 7, the Politico newspaper pointed out the lack of direction from the "coalition of those willing" to help Ukraine. Sources of the publication suggested that this problem partly lies in the UK's attitude to US security guarantees, which have not yet been given and on which the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, seriously relied.
