Gynecomastia, a condition in which men's breasts enlarge and resemble women's breasts, can cause not only physical discomfort, but also psychological problems associated with low self-esteem and embarrassment. In all cases, the disease requires surgical intervention, which helps eliminate excess tissue and restore the normal appearance of the breast. Plastic surgeon Georgy Karapetyan told about this on Tuesday, July 8.

The specialist clarified that gynecomastia is divided into two types: true and false. True gynecomastia is an increase in the volume of the glandular tissue of the male breast. Normally, in men, the gland is in a reduced state and has a microscopic volume. However, when the hormonal background changes, hypertrophy or hyperplasia occurs.

"Gynecomastia is more often an aesthetic defect that does not suit patients, because it hides the so—called masculinizing contour, the masculine contour of the chest, since sometimes the size of true gynecomastia can reach the average size of the mammary glands of women," the doctor said in an interview with IA RuNews24.ru .

Karapetyan added that men who have hormonal problems suffer from gynecomastia more often. The cause of the disease may be the uncontrolled use of hormonal drugs, for example, during various sports training and exercise.

"As soon as the increased volume of the mammary glands is formed, only surgical treatment is necessary. Modern surgery allows you to enter very delicately, with access along the edge of the halo, and remove all the breast tissue in men, while eliminating the aesthetic defect," said the plastic surgeon.

False gynecomastia or lipomastia is associated with hypertrophy of the fatty tissue in the mammary glands. Such breast enlargement occurs when there is nothing wrong with the hormonal background, but there is a local deposition of subcutaneous fat. Due to the volume of hypertrophied fat in the breast area, a volume is formed that causes aesthetic dissatisfaction and defect.

Earlier in India, doctors created a new penis for a resident of Nagpur, who was left without it due to cancer. A 30-year-old patient lived for eight years without this organ. The surgeons performed a successful operation that lasted 9.5 hours. 360.ru .

On July 4, a criminal case was opened in Podolsk on the fact of causing death by negligence to a woman during plastic surgery in a private clinic, the Moscow City News agency reports.

Earlier, Denis Sergeev, a plastic surgeon and trichotransplantologist at the Damas Medical Center for Innovative Medicine, said that excessive deposition of adipose tissue in the area between the neck and upper back, popularly called the "widow's hump," may occur due to hormonal disorders in the body.

The doctor noted that the appearance of such changes in the body in women may be accompanied by menopause, when the level of estrogen decreases and the redistribution of adipose tissue increases. And in men, the first sign of the disease may be dorsocervical fat deposits due to impaired testosterone metabolism.
