It is extremely important to inform each combatant about the benefits provided. This was stated on July 8 by Assistant to the President of Russia, Secretary of the State Council Alexei Dyumin at a meeting of the State Council commission on support for combat veterans participating in a special military operation (SVO) and their family members.

"All our work should be aimed at ensuring that veterans of their military receive a full range of necessary medical services, and in the future, decent work. And in general, we have successfully adapted to a peaceful life," he stressed.

In addition, the Secretary of the State Council noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally controls issues related to the support of veterans of his military and their families. During the meeting, Dyumin drew attention to the need to develop measures aimed at the medical and psychological rehabilitation of special operations veterans and their employment.

In turn, the Governor of the Astrakhan region, Chairman of the State Council Commission Igor Babushkin, said that the commission was instructed to increase the level of interaction between government authorities, the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, as well as other structures to form the most effective system of work with veterans of their military and their family members.

On July 7, Putin signed a law according to which participants in their military operations in Donbass and Novorossiya will receive the status of combat veterans. It is specified that military personnel who have been serving in these territories since February 24, 2022, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions since September 30, 2022, and have special merits in performing tasks, can apply for it.
