The court convicted Greek citizen Eleni Grigoriadi for disrespecting the symbols of military glory of Russia. This was announced on July 8 by the joint press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory.

"She was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Dissemination of information expressing obvious disrespect for society about the days of military glory of Russia related to the defense of the Fatherland, desecration of symbols of military glory of Russia, committed publicly, using the Internet)," follows from the publication in Telegram -the channel.

It is specified that on May 9, 2022, the girl posted five offensive images in the social network community. They contained collages, the elements of which were "St. George's Ribbon", the poster "Motherland calls!", "Eternal Flame" and the very designation "May 9 is Victory Day". According to the press service of the courts, the pictures contained information expressing disrespect for society and information desecrating the symbols of Russia's military glory.

During the trial, the Greek citizen confessed her guilt and repented. The court imposed a one-year suspended prison sentence, with the deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the administration of websites and the posting of materials on the Internet for a period of two years. The verdict has not entered into legal force.

On June 30, a court sentenced two men to two years and six months in a penal colony for desecrating a monument in the village of Kurskaya, Stavropol Territory. It was reported that the attackers desecrated the monument "Eternal Flame of Soldier's Glory and Immortality" and pleaded not guilty to the crime.
