Sobyanin presented state awards to large families
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin presented awards to large families on Family, Love and Fidelity Day.
Nine families were awarded the order and the medal of the Order of Parental Glory. Maria Kairova, a teacher who raises 13 children with her husband, the rector of the temple, was awarded the title of "Mother Heroine."
"Family is the main value. But it's not enough to create a family, it's important to preserve and multiply it," Sobyanin wrote on his Telegram channel. He added that "the most difficult work is being a parent," so strong families with many children command respect.
The mayor noted that over the past 15 years, the number of large families in Moscow has increased 3.5 times to almost 233 thousand. He stressed that an effective system of their support has been built in the capital.
"But the main thing is that we have created an environment in which it is comfortable and safe to live, receive good education and medical care," Sobyanin wrote. According to him, the authorities take care of families at all stages of raising children, and growing up, they "can choose any profession and find a decent job."
