The United States has only about 25% of the anti-missile systems for the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) after stocks in the Middle East have been completely depleted in recent months. This was reported on July 8 by The Guardian newspaper.

"Stocks of Patriot missiles have decreased so much that it has caused concern in the Pentagon, as this could jeopardize potential US military operations," the publication says.

It is noted that this state of affairs led to the fact that the administration of US President Donald Trump froze the last supply of ammunition to Ukraine.

As the newspaper pointed out, citing sources, the decision taken last month was largely based on data from the Pentagon's global ammunition tracking system, which will determine their minimum level for the implementation of plans for possible operations of the US armed forces.

Earlier that day, Axios learned of Trump's plans to send Zelensky 10 Patriot missiles. In addition, the American leader also promised to help find other ways to supply weapons to Ukraine.
