One of the main tips for protecting yourself from scammers is: don't talk to strangers. This was announced on July 8 by Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev.

"You know, these tips are no different from what our parents told us when we were little. Don't talk to strangers, don't take candy from someone you don't know, and so on. Therefore, do not tell anyone the card details and SMS codes," he said in an interview with the Kherson News Agency.

In addition, Moiseev added that it has become a priority for the authorities of Donbass and Novorossiya to train the local population on how to protect themselves from fraudsters.

On July 6, the Department for Combating the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies (UBK) of the Russian Interior Ministry reported that fraudsters had developed a scheme in which attackers rent citizens' bank cards under the pretext of transactions with cryptocurrency. It was noted that in this case, the card or personal accounts will be used for a one-time withdrawal of funds that were obtained illegally. Such operations will be considered droppery.
