Modern Russian couples prefer to celebrate weddings in a small circle. About 60% plan to invite no more than 30 guests, while 20% plan to limit themselves to only the closest people or do without guests altogether. Russians shared their vision of the wedding celebration in a survey conducted by the Rosselkhoznadzor on the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. Izvestia got acquainted with the results of the study on July 8.

"Interestingly, 15% believe that if you go for a walk, it's in a big way: more than 100 people will share the joy of creating a new family," the analysts noted.

The financial side of the wedding celebration has undergone changes. The vast majority of couples (84%) They rely solely on their own resources, only 11% receive help from relatives, and only 5% of respondents use bank loans to organize a holiday.

When it comes to gifts, Russians' preferences are divided: 59% would like to receive money, 25% dream of a wedding trip, and 16% prefer memorable gifts that can be inherited.

Culinary traditions remain an important part of the wedding celebration. Almost half of the respondents (48%) would include regional cuisine in the menu, 46% would prefer treats that are popular throughout Russia, and only 6% are ready for culinary experiments.

The majority of couples (63%) will entrust the preparation of festive dishes to professional chefs, while 24% will seek help from older relatives. Interestingly, some respondents jokingly mentioned the famous chef Konstantin Ivlev as a welcome performer on the wedding menu.

Earlier, on April 24, it was reported how Russians' spending changed after the wedding. So, in the month of the wedding, spending by women and men is 35.6% and 43.4% higher than the average. After that, they remain at an elevated level in 12.9% of women and 13.4% of men.
