Mass pet registration checks will be carried out in Primorye
In Primorsky Krai, raids will be conducted to identify pets without registration. Already in July, events are planned in Arsenyev, Vladivostok, Ussuriysk and the Border Region.
According to PrimaMedia news agency with reference to the state veterinary inspectorate of the region, the first inspection in Arsenyev will take place on Tuesday, July 8. Administrative commissions will travel through the courtyards of apartment buildings from Zhukovsky Street to 9 May Street. In the same city, inspections are scheduled for July 15, 22 and 29.
Experts will clarify the availability of mandatory registration of pets, their chipping, and fix the points of accumulation of stray dogs.
For violation of the requirement for mandatory registration and chipping, citizens face a fine of 2 thousand to 3 thousand rubles.
The agency recalls that the mandatory registration of dogs older than three months was introduced in Primorye in June 2024. Starting from January 1, 2025, a fine of 2-3 thousand rubles is provided for her absence, and 50-100 thousand rubles for officials. Dog owners may also face fines for walking without a leash or muzzle. It amounts to more than 3 thousand rubles.
At the end of May, it was reported that euthanasia of stray dogs could be allowed in the Trans-Baikal Territory in the event of an "extraordinary situation." The issue of fixing this concept in the law on the treatment of animals without owners was considered by deputies of the agrarian committee of the regional legislative assembly. It is proposed to define an "extraordinary situation" as a temporary situation that cannot be resolved by other means, related to attacks by stray animals or the spread of diseases dangerous to humans, when the measures provided for by law do not provide an adequate level of security.
