Canadian forward Sheldon Rempal has left the hockey club Salavat Yulaev, playing in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), and signed a one-year contract with the National Hockey League (NHL) club Washington Capitals. The 29-year-old striker spent only one season at Salavat Yulaev — he joined the club last summer. In total, Rempal played 68 matches in the KHL regular season, in which he scored 61 (31+30) points and became the fourth in the list of top scorers of the season.
In the NHL, the striker previously played for other clubs, including the Los Angeles Kings, Carolina Hurricanes, Vancouver Canucks and Vegas Golden Knights, but he played only 21 games there and scored 3 (2+1) points.
