The Central District Military Court of Yekaterinburg found a resident of the region guilty in the case of calling for terrorist activities through a network. He was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison. This was announced on July 8 by the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region.

"The Central District Military Court (Yekaterinburg) found a resident of the region guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.2 ("Public calls for terrorist activities committed using information and telecommunication networks "Internet")," the report says.

In February of this year, law enforcement agencies established that a resident, being a supporter of a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation, had posted comments in the public domain calling for illegal actions, including attacks on the lives of government officials.

As a result, the court sentenced the accused to imprisonment for a period of 5 years and 6 months to serve his sentence in a correctional colony. It is clarified that the verdict has not yet entered into force.

Earlier, on July 6, it was reported that a teenager had been arrested in the Republic of Dagestan in the case of an attempted terrorist act in Buinaksk. The minor was taken into custody.
