More than 150 regional vascular centers have been established in Russia. This was stated by the chief freelance cardiologist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for the Northwestern, Southern, North Caucasian, Volga Federal Districts, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, Director General of the Almazov National Research Medical Center of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, President of the Russian Society of Cardiology, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, MD Evgeny Shlyakhto on July 8 in the press center of the Izvestia News Center during a press conference on the topic: "World Cardiologist's Day – 2025: achievements and prospects of modern cardiology".

"Primary vascular departments have been modernized, and high—tech medical care is actively developing," the doctor said.

He stressed that there are no major problems in providing care for acute coronary syndrome in Russia right now. Moreover, many regions have chosen a resource to reduce mortality by providing care to patients with this disease — approximately 5-7% reduction in mortality.

"Today we are mainly looking at patients with chronic pathology, coronary artery disease, and heart failure, expanding preferential drug provision programs and introducing digital technologies that will ensure patient movement control at all stages of medical care," the cardiologist said.

In addition, Shlyakhto noted that one of the important nuances of timely medical care is personnel. According to him, the Ministry of Health is actively dealing with this issue. Currently, the number of places in universities and residency programs in medical specialties is increasing.

Earlier, on June 25, Stanislav Ionov, Professor of the Department of Therapy at the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education, said that the symptoms preceding a stroke depend on its cause. According to him, hemorrhagic stroke occurs with hypertension, when blood vessels rupture and hemorrhage occurs in the brain.
